The World Needs SUBSTANCE
Paul was a man that spoke seven languages and studied under the tutelage of Gamaliel who was a prominent teacher and learned man. Paul could confound the minds of anyone that he encountered. Paul could impress anyone that he came across with his excellency of speech. Paul was a highly intelligent guy. But when it came to the Gospel of Jesus, the Christ, Paul did not “dumb it down” but instead “broke it down” so that all who listened would not simply say “oh ah” but also say “Thank You, Father!”
In today’s time in the church, regardless of whether it is the traditional or the contemporary, there is a desire to impress people that supersedes the responsibility to preach Christ crucified.
This leaves the congregation without Spirit and without Power! Instead, they have emotion, wonderment, intellectual stimulation, realization and a good show, but their lives are not changed! Temporary tickle replaces a permanent fix! The people of God need God’s Spirit and God’s power and the servants of God are instead giving them ego and entertainment.
