You Ain’t Got Time For That!
There are so many times in the Bible that the implication that non-believers should be avoided because of their sin being contagious. Their ways contradict the Word, Will and Way of God as taught to believers in the Bible. However, the scripture postures us before an element of truth and perspective that is often missed or misunderstood.
Paul teaches us here that we should stay away from or get rid of that “wicked person” because they “judge”…a reason usually not brought up to justify avoiding or pushing out people.
The wicked person judges! How does that play a constricting, divisive or defining role in the life of the believer? Firstly, the judging misdirects the believer. If you hang around judging people, then you will eventually start judging yourself. Secondly, one who judges other people will question God and that is not a liberty that the believer should exercise. Faith must do its job, and we must let it!!! Thirdly, the one who judges will eventually or at some time or other JUDGE YOU. Since we are all sinners saved by grace, we are not perfect and have something that can be criticized. So, some mess would get started! 🙂
