Distractions
Sometimes we as Christians, believers or church folk get caught up in things that truly don’t make a difference.
First of all, we get caught up in them because the institution makes is a critical element. Churches have split because of disagreements that have nothing to do with the Kingdom of God. Denominations have been created because of choices to focus on one portion of scripture more than another. Secondly, we get caught up in them because we have self-serving purpose to fulfill. We basically want God to cosign our personal mess or message! Thirdly, we simply have our focus in the wrong place. We are looking to the building or the cars or the clothes or the customs or the habits…things that are temporal or this world…instead of looking to the Hills from which cometh our Help…those things that are eternal! There are two consequential separations that happen because of us doing this. We get separated from our brother or sister.
Then the greatest and crucial issue is that we get separated from God.
It doesn’t matter what our OWN righteousness says. The righteousness of God is what matters.
