Know Your Calling
It is a very difficult thing to walk as a believer in unsurity and a lack of confidence as to the stability of your spiritual fate. Am I saved? Have I messed up my relationship with God in my sin? Can God forgive me? Is God sick of me yet? All of these questions come together to torment the spirit of the believer and constrain the servitude of God’s servant. Peter addressed this concern in this scripture which outlines the “way out”. The key phrase is to GIVE DILIGENCE! God expects and requires us to be diligent in our efforts to be in relationship with Him, meaning to be persistent and consistent. We can’t let our flesh, other people, our situation or any other fiery dart of the enemy to distract or deter us from our purpose. Then also our focus must be two-fold. We must firm up our calling. God calls us to be in relationship with him through faith and works...KNOW YOUR RESPONSE!!! We must then firm up our election. God has chosen us to do a divine work for Him…STAY ON TASK!!! It is so easy to lose focus or determination, but we have enough experience WITH God to keep ourselves seeing and holding the “gospel plow”. The work that God has started HE WILL COMPLETE!!!! Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
