Three In One
Our Christian faith is very specific! First, there is one God. Christianity is a monotheistic religion that has a triune existence to the one God that it serves. The trinity is ONE God in THREE “persons” which means that the Divine being manifests Himself in three different ways based on the context, situation and presentation of God toward mankind. Within this conceptualization of the Triune God, we find the ONE mediator, Jesus, the Christ. The “context” of Jesus is the sinful nature of man. The “situation” is the need to reconcile man into relationship with God, the Father. The “presentation” employed for Jesus as Savior of mankind was human flesh. Jesus came as a man. Why?
Because God needed Jesus to stand BETWEEN God and Man.
Jesus could not do this as only all God or as only all man. He had to be both which Jesus was…ALL God and ALL Man! Jesus took upon Himself ALL of the sins of mankind that were separating God from man and then allowed Himself AND the sins to die on the cross! That took care of the sin.
