I’m Not Perfect
We aren’t perfect, but we are supposed to have a desire to be perfect in and for God. That makes no sense whatsoever in the flesh because it means that we are wasting our energy trying to achieve the unachievable goal…perfect.
However, in God, we are judged by the journey and not the destination.
We are valued for our direction and not our achievement. So that leaves us with the daunting challenge to GET RIGHT! We gotta be cleansed of unrighteousness, rid of fear, freed from sin, lightened by the removal of guilt and purged of sin on the inside.
This positions us to be considered righteous and holy. With this consideration we can have a right relationship with God, our ultimate goal!
But what we have to keep in mind is the beginning of this scripture which reminds us that we have PROMISES. That is the reason why we do and can do. God has PROMISED us. We work toward perfection because of the PROMISES that God has given us. These aren’t just any old promises. God has PROMISED us that He will save us from inevitable damnation because of our faith in Him!
