There are two critical scenarios where God is described Biblically to be “faithful”. One is in the event of our request for forgiveness. God WILL forgive us of our sins when we confess our sins! (1John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”) However, in 1Corinthians 10:13 we find another time when God is “faithful”. It is in the case of our suffering. God doesn’t punish us with suffering but does ALLOW suffering in our lives.
But what I love about my God is that Paul tells us in this scripture that God will never allow suffering or temptation in our lives without His also establishing a “a way out” for us.
God ALLOWS our struggle that spurns our growth and strengthening, But His love for us is so beyond our reason that He creates an escape along with the temptation to ensure that we have the opportunity to make it through. If we get taken down by a temptation, it is not because God did not make a way! God has made a way before a way was even needed to be made. Thanks be to God for His unspeakable Gift!!!
