The Standard & The Method…
In Romans 12:1-2, God gives the believer two things: the Standard and the Method.
First of all, the standard is in verse 1. God tells us in this scripture that He expects us to be sacrificial to God in nature, holy and acceptable to God. Wow! He holds us to such a high standard that we sometimes can feel that it is impossible. Why should I always be sacrificing and sacrificed? (Look at Psalms 51:17) How can I be imperfect and holy at the same time? (Look at 1Peter 1:16) Then is there any way for a wretch like me to be acceptable to God? (Look at Hebrews 11:6) But God did not set the high standard without giving us a method by which we can reach it!
DON’T CONFORM…TRANSFORM! DON’T DO….BE! DON’T ADJUST…CHANGE!
What we must do is to TRANSFORM our selves and our lives! Transform is to go from one form to another. Let us go from our original for to another form. Let us go from flesh to spirit in our form and makeup. Let us go from sin to righteousness in our composition. Let us go from definite hell to assured Heaven! If we would just BELIEVE and CONFESS Jesus, the Christ, we will TRANSFORM and not have to settle for just conforming to the ways of THIS world.
