Faith Needs Works
The Book of James documents a fundamental truth and principle that grounds the presence, positioning and essential value of the believer. What do I mean when I say that? This scripture makes me to know what it is that moves me forward in God. The Bible says that the just shall live by faith, but the faith is not enough to justify the believer in their relationship with God. The believer needs works.
It takes faith to please God but it takes works to be right with God.
What that means is that I can’t just believe. I have to also DO. I can’t just “get happy”. I have to also LIVE RIGHT. Also note the “works” of the believer. The believer cannot just do anything. The believer must do that which aligned with the Word, Will and Way of God!!!!
The two greatest commandments say it best, as I paraphrase, Love the Lord with all you got and love your neighbor as yourself! Any work done by the believer must be of one of these two unctions…love of God or love of people!!!! Love of God should be show through love of self.
