Folks Are The Problem
I so love the fact that our God understands His creation! Then on top of that He understands us to the point that he communicates and teaches us according to that understanding. In this scripture, we find Jesus having risen from the dead and appearing to the disciples. The 1o disciples saw Jesus appear and just started praising in marvel and excitement. However when Thomas saw the disciples and they told him of Jesus having arisen, Thomas was not sold.
It was not the power of God that Thomas doubted. Thomas doubted the characters that were telling Him!
However, when Jesus appeared unto Thomas, Thomas responded with a statement of belief…“My Lord and My God”! Thomas did not have to touch. Thomas did not need a sermon. Thomas did not need to go back and check the fingerprints. Thomas BELIEVED! God knew that Thomas just needed his own personal experience. That is so how we are as believers and free moral agents. Sometimes we are not doubting what God CAN do. We are just doubtful of what we are being told that He has DONE!!!! We are not doubting the Word. We are doubting the one CARRYING the Word!
