Here Paul is talking to the church in Philippi and gives an interesting blessing to those in the church through two powerful concepts and entities of God…Prayer and Love. Both of these powers have potential to change lives!!! Both have testimonial value in how they have played a critical part in the regeneration of the believer’s life and living!!! However, here they come together to take us to an even higher level!
Paul prayed that their LOVE grew. Then he more specifically prayed that their love grow in knowledge and judgment.
The knowledge makes Love real and not just a concept. The judgment shows that Love is applied to your life and is reflected in every action and intent. May Love abound… There are so many things that we can wish for and hope to have in excess. I have prayed for money, understanding, companionship, power and many other things…love is usually not one. Love makes you care about your fellow man or woman. Love makes you look beyond your self. Love pushes you to trust in who you are and deal with how you are. That is what Love does. I wanna be MORE!!! Let us have LOVE abound and overflow in our lives. Thank YOU, Father, for being the LOVE that lives in ME!!!!!! Amen!
