It’s About Mercy
Mercy is a powerful attribute and resource infused within the believer. It is not forgiveness. Forgiveness affords the ability for the believer to move beyond the mistakes of those they encounter and also the mistakes that they make themselves. That is critical as a WHAT when we look at Mercy. However, the HOWs of Mercy expand it beyond our own human abilities to require that we have Divine assistance and provisions to accomplish it. Mercy is to be done WITH LOVE. We are to show mercy to others and ourselves with a love that makes our response and reaction uncharacteristic of a human and requiring God’s presence.
Mercy is to be done WITHOUT INTELLECTUAL RECONCILIATION. We are not to try to make sense or fairness of the Mercy that the Holy Spirit drives us to show. Like Nike would say…JUST DO IT! Lastly, Mercy is EVERLASTING. It did not cost us anything and is available to us forever! Thank God that His mercy is everlasting! I can call on Him when I need Him. I can call on Him when I cant talk to anyone else. I can call on Him when my live is wrong but my plea is RIGHT!!!
