Acknowledge and Encourage Others
As believers we must never forget and always remind ourselves to consider and applaud others! It is like the tragedy of parenthood where the parent tells the child what they must NOT do so often that the child grows up with no confidence in what they can do! Believers can’t have the reputation of always quoting the Ten Commandments of “Thou shalt not”s and never telling the world edifying things that encourage and enliven instead of only destroying and burdening. In this scripture Philemon was told by Paul some powerful accolades in truth!
Paul thanked God for Philemon and always mentioned Philemon in his prayers.
How many people can we say this about? That meant that Philemon was in Paul’s heart…POWERFUL. Then Paul said that he had heard such good things about Philemon including of his love and faith toward both Jesus and all saints! We all know that this is a requirement of the believer as biblically proclaimed. That is encouraging to know that what we do is what God wants us to do! Encourage and edify our brothers and sisters in truth! Development and growth depend on it. Most importantly, the culture and power of the Kingdom of God requires it!
