I Want FAITH
Paul gave Timothy a grand compliment here that I aspire to always present in my life and living…unfeigned faith! Timothy’s faith was REAL and was not fake. Paul affirmed Timothy to let him know that he could tell that Timothy was not faking it and was truly exhibiting the faith that he was taught to have in a relationship with God. AMEN, Timothy!!!!! Paul had evidence and support for making this accolade. Paul knew of the “stock” that Timothy came from, his mother and grandmother. There is power in a legacy left for a child. Timothy’s mother and grandmother did not leave money, houses or land to Timothy. Instead, they gave Timothy FAITH.
The faith we live and apply in our lives is a legacy to those coming after us.
It is even a blessing in the overflow received by others who are close or in connection. It is not just about us and our good, bad and ugly. We are impacting other generations and individuals in and around our lives. Now Timothy is equipped and just needs Paul to remind him that he IS READY.
