A Change Gonna Come!
We always talk, pray, sing and cry out in the perspective of our own experience. Let’s think about how God must feel. God has stretched out His Hands to a disobedient and gainsaying people. Wow! The bible uses disobedient and gainsaying to describe us. It could also have used the term selfish. It could have said hateful. It could have said envious. It could have said ruthless. Many negative terms describe the state, personality and sometimes all-consuming existence of God’s creation, mankind. When we think of this as believers, we immediately go to the concept of Grace.
But let’s take a step back look at how God must feel when He gives His provisions, peace, power, presence and protection to a people who give won’t give back the same in praise and honor.
God got fed up in Eden and kicked Adam and Eve out of the perfect garden. God got fed up and destroyed the world by water in the Great Flood. God got fed up and was silent for 400 years between Malachi and Matthew. God is gonna get fed up with our mess and machinations. When He does, Jesus will come to meet us in the air. The old heaven and earth will pass away. The world as we know it will be destroyed by fire. When God gets tired…CHANGE GONE COME!!!
