Wait On The Lord!
The time is not when we want to but when God ordains. If you don’t know when God ordains then wait on hearing. If you can’t hear, then ask God for an ear to hear. If you don’t go to God to ask, then you cannot ever get what you need to be able to minister of teach. I can so well remember when I would want to get the gift and the result but not want to blatantly ASK God for direction. The bible teaches that we have not because we ask not. Then it also teaches that He will grant our desire if we ask and ask right! That is all that we need to know that we have a resource in God to grant our needs and desires. In this pericope we learn that what we are waiting on is not just need or desire…it is opportunity.
God will grant us the opportunity to minister…the opportunity to teach…if we would just “wait”.
Why wait? …because God wants us to wait. Don’t waste your gift on other activities that are not of God. Don’t contaminate your gift with the approach, expectation or mimicking of people. Own your gift(s) and continually grow into the edifying and mature application of the gifts to build the Kingdom of God!
