Can’t Avoid Evil
The reality that the Believer must address, embrace and internalize is that we will never in this world get rid of evil. There will always be evil. There will always be hatred. There will always be deceit. There will always be lies. There will always be violence. There will always be confusion.
There will always be EVIL.
Then the unfortunate coexistence is our innate desire and affinity for GOOD. When God breathed the breath of life into us, He gave us a seasoning of Himself that we cannot get rid of. We want what is good, pretty, strong and full of life. However, when confronted with evil, we find ourselves reacting with evil. The bible teaches us here that when we are confronted with evil we should not only combat it with good…we should expect to OVERCOME it with GOOD.
We must have the confidence and understanding to USE GOOD to be victorious and not just to defend ourselves.
GOOD should be what we see as the GREATER power and not just and nice power. GOOD should be the first thing that we should want to use and not a last resort. GOOD should be what we are proud of and not what we are ashamed about. GOOD must be our conscious desire and resource and not be our active intention when all else has failed!
