Here I Am
When we preach and testify of the goodness, kindness, mercy, love and power of God, we must embrace also the authority that God has to correct and chasten us. We know that we are not perfect. We know that we have done wrong. So we need for God to correct us. As Grandmama would say, “A dirty rag can’t clean a dirty window!” It takes a clean rag to bring clarity to a dirty window. God is our “clean rag” and is the only “clean rag” accessible to us when we have lost our righteousness in Him. God’s correction brings us that much closer to how God wants us to be….self-sufficient and calculated in our worship and relationship.
So, I don’t run from God’s correction any more.
I used to think that it was a bad thing for God to have to step in a rearrange, break or replace stuff in my life. I would shy away from it. Now that I have come grips with the fact that at my best I am flawed…I pray that God will correct me now. HERE I AM! Even when I think that I am doing alright…HERE I AM. Even when I know that others are watching…HERE I AM. Even when the “unknown” gnaws at my conscience to make me wanna run…HERE I AM!!!!
