God is a Spirit.
The Gospel According to Saint John makes that clear to us. However, in my life and the development of my relationship with God, I see a more prevalent manifestation of this truth in the perspective that God is a Presence. You can’t touch Him, but He can touch you. You can’t see Him, but He can see you. You can’t hear Him, but He can hear my cry! That is what makes God sooooo special to me! God sees, touches and hears me even when I can only trust, obey and love Him! “I love the Lord. He heard my cry and pitied my every grown. Long as I live and trouble rise, I’ll hasten to His throne.”
God just IS!
To try and describe Him would limit who He IS! That is why we need to just let God BE…be the Lord and Savior that is sovereign over our lives. So when people ask the believer, who is God, we can easily respond to tell them that God just IS! Then when they say, God is what, we can tell them that God is God and that is the best we can do to explain. It is best to take this apporach because what it does is keep us from limiting God to others. We let God be who He is….GOD!!!!
