Right Now God
When I was growing up in the Baptist church we used to hear the old idiom that God is a “Right Now God”. PReachers used to get the house fired up saying it. The deacons used to warm up the congregation saying it. Choirs would melodically stir up the individual singing it. Meditations came home to the individual when thinking it. God is a “Right Now God”. I have to admit that did not really know what this meant until I was older…probably in my 30s. When I was younger I did not really kow what it meant to lean on God.
I would in hindsight admit and acknowledge the presence of God in my life, but I did not sensationally know it for myself.
When I got grown, I knew that God was there but it seemed like He moved when He felt like it and not when I needed Him. When I got to my 30s and had some suffering under my belt, I realized that even though God did not do things the way that I wanted him to, He did them on time. While I was looking for lightening, He was sending rain. When I was looking for money, He was sending direction. When I was looking for companionship, He was sending Himself! God was moving RIGHT NOW!
