Text:
1Corinthians 13:13:
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

I’ve Got Somethin’ For Ya’
Introduction:
- This is a study done after a speech that I did in Toastmasters on 4/19/2004. This was definitely a God-given word that I sought the Lord for and He heard my cry. I had to do a speech where my purpose was to “Sell a Product”. I did not know what it was to be but I prayed for God’s guidance and He answered my prayer. God gave me Faith, Hope and Love. Those were to be my products. Then I had to give an introduction and He led me to say that although I did not feel that I was a salesman by calling, I actually was. It was not the activity that made the difference but the PRODUCT. With the right product I was a salesman and glad of it!!! So, here is a explication of the speech that God gave to me and that I gave. I’ve Got Somethin’ For Ya’!
- The First Letter to the Church in Corinth, to the Corinthians, was written by the Apostle Paul.
- Paul’s focus in this letter was Christian Conduct.
- The church in Corinth was as churches are now.
- As it says in Romans 10:1, “For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.”
- They are doing as Colossians 2:18 explains, “…intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,”
- Sales is a job that is very difficult. It truly takes a salesman to do sales.
- It takes PATIENCE à Being patient with the sale and who you are selling to.
- It takes PURPOSE à Being focused on where you are going and not what you are doing.
- It takes PERSISTENCE à Being aggressive not to the person but to the purpose.
- I have learned that the difference is not in the how or why you are selling, but in WHAT you are selling.
- It’s all about the product!
- I now have three products that I believe will be the best purchase that you could ever make:
- Faith, Hope, and Love
- These products will interest you for two reasons:
- They don’t cost money!
- They are GOOD!
Body:
- FAITH
- Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
- Faith is the belief in something that is not believable.
- Faith is living a reality that is not real.
- Faith comes from knowledge and is fueled by TRUST.
- Romans 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
- The value of FAITH is that it CHANGES REALITY!
- You don’t have to feel stuck in the hole, problem, frustration, or relationship that you are in. Through FAITH you can CHANGE your REALITY!
- Knowing this, don’t you want to buy some FAITH!
- Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
- HOPE
- Romans 8:24, “For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?”
- Hope is the ability to see the unseen.
- Our hope is in Jesus!
- Titus 2:13, “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;”
- The value of HOPE is that it CHANGES VISION!
- Goals are brought closer to reality by hope. Through HOPE you can CHANGE your VISION!
- 1John 3:3, “And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.”
- As the old R&B song says, “I can see clearly now the rain (sin) is gone.”
- Knowing this, don’t you want to buy some HOPE!
- Goals are brought closer to reality by hope. Through HOPE you can CHANGE your VISION!
- Romans 8:24, “For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?”
- LOVE
- God to man à Agape à John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
- Man to man à Filios à Leviticus 19:18, “Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.”
- Man to woman à Eros à Ephesians 5:33, “Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.”
- Love is a term used arbitrarily… without true meaning or power
- Romans 10:2, “For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.”
- God is Love!
- 1John 4:8, “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”
- Love is a term used arbitrarily… without true meaning or power
- The value of LOVE is that it CHANGES LIFE!
- 1John 3:14, “We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.”
- Living is life more abundantly through LOVE.
- John 10:10, “….I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
- Love makes living true LIFE
- 1 Peter 1:22, “Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:”
- Knowing this, don’t you want some LOVE?
Conclusion:
- Before we go, let’s look at the cost. They don’t cost money, but they are not free!
- Before you agree to buy you must COUNT THE COST!
- Luke 14:28, “For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?”
- Before you agree to buy you must COUNT THE COST!
- There is a “PRICE” for these products: Faith, Hope, and Love
- The price is YOUR LIFE
- Mark 8:34, “And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”
- 1 Peter 3:4, “But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.”
- You have to give it up to get it!
- You have to give up your LIFE to get LIFE
- Give it up to get Faith, Hope and Love
- Give up lieing
- Give up whoremongering
- Give up backbiting
- Give up tattling
- Give up depression
- Give up worrying
- Give up vanity
- GIVE IT UP!!!
- To have LIFE
- FAITH, HOPE, LOVE, then there’s joy, peace, temperance, meekness, POWER!!!!
- To have LIFE
- The price is YOUR LIFE
YES, I’VE GOT SOMETHIN’ FOR YA’!!!
