Christian Men Who Have Obtained Mercy

1Peter 2:9-10:

9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

Christian Men Who Have Obtained Mercy

 

Introduction:

• This was the text and topic “taken” for the Men’s Day program at Washington Park Baptist Church. I had prepared a different scripture and this was done based on the text and the inspiration of God that came at that moment.  I have tried to find a way of documenting this.  The key points were as follows:

Body:

• This is spoken in the context of men but applies to everyone.
  • Men are accountable but all are applicable!
• We are supposed to be peculiar!
• We are called OUT of darkness and INTO light!
  • We were outside of Him but now are IN Him
    • Matthew 5:16, “Let your light so shine that others may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in Heaven”
  • We must show that we are His and live as the MEN that we are supposed to be.
  • We must teach or young boys and men to be MEN!!!!
    • Lift UP and not put DOWN!
    • Identify with their struggle
    • Be real!

Conclusion:

• It was only His mercy that has allowed us the opportunity to be more like Him!!!
