You Ain’t All That!
The man of God is not God. Those 7 words disassemble and discombobulate probably 60% of the Christian ministries in the United States. I say this because the success or the sustinence of many ministries is couched in one of two things: 1) the people thinking that the pastor is God OR 2) the pastor thinking that he/she is God! There is only 1 God and God does not sit in the seat in the building but instead sits on the throne in Heaven. We know that…but….for the purpose of the pastor being and doing what we want him/her to be and do we make them to be God.
We are supposed to have faith in God, whom we cannot see, but we decide to more easily force faith on the MAN OF God, whom we can see!
He/she presents themselves to draw people to think of them as perfect. That’s how you get big congregation, big salary, a nice house and and luxury car! People will pay for…i mean…give to a pastor who is what they feel on a level that they cannot be on. Peter combatted this mentality and sin by telling people what they regarded him incorrectly. We are not God…we are MEN OF God! We are Men of God because only of God can we have our being as Men!!!! Thanks be to God!!!!!
