The Only Judge
Growing up in the deep south, you learn at a very early age that all people are not the same. There are different criteria on which people are judged, noticed and observed on personal, professional and societal levels. For us, it’s ok. It’s just how it is. We, Southerners, would rather know it and have it in front of us instead of folks keepign it under wraps and thinking that they are doing us a favor. If you hate me, cool! At least I know it and can plan accordingly. If you are afraid of me, if you are intimidated by me, if you are cool with me…all fine. I just want to know. It is in this vein that digesting the love of God is rather difficult.
If there is anyone who would have the right to judge and ability to judge accordingly, it would be God.
Then the bible teaches us that God does do it. God is “no respecter of persons”! How can that be? The very good to the very bad, the faithful to the most deviant, the strong to the weak, the skilled to the inept, the believer to the non believer…God loves us all the same and makes all the same available to us in this life. The separation occurs at judgment, after death. Til then we all have a chance, an opportunity. It must be God cause people, without God in us, can’t do that!!!
