Reciprocity
It rough to love someone and they don’t receive your love and actually throw it back at you as malcontent. It is really tough to care about someone and they misconstrue you caring for manipulation or distance. It is hard to take care of someone and they turn and tell you that you don’t care or reach out needing more as if you have done nothing. These are tough scenarios when dealing with people in human relationships. Just think how it must be to give someone the words and keys to eternal life and they turn from you and the words that you have spoken to then see you as an enemy and not the friend that you intended to be. You can try again another way to see if they receive you. You can try to provide from a different direction to see if they take it that way.
However, eventually you will “wax bold” as Paul and Barnabas did and then TURN.
Turn from those whom you are trying to provide eternal life. Turn from the ways that led you to those people. Turn from the intent that guided your efforts. Then you will turn to another object of you care and concern. The bible even tells us to shake the dust off your feet…don’t carry any resentment or malice or fear or burden…JUST MOVE ON!
