His Spirit Abides
Oftentimes when people have talked about or taught about the Holy Ghost, they describe or refer to it being basically a “possession”. There is the perception that the Holy Spirit just takes over the situation and our lives. However, this is not totally true. The Holy Spirit does “take over”, but it takes over both by what it “does” and by what it “gives us so that we can do”. “Free Will” was given to mankind at creation as both a gift and a curse to separate mankind from the rest of God’s creation. Everything praised God but God wanted a being that did it by CHOICE. Mankind with free will give God praise by choice. The Holy Spirit then doesn’t totally take over but leaves room for man to choose to do God’s Will. In doing so, once the Holy Spirit is within you, He gives you power to be a witness of God. I love this summary of how we are empowered.
God does whatever is necessary for us to be an effective witness of who and how He is…whatever is necesary to do this!
The extent to which God makes us witnesses allows us to not just witness to the familiar but also the unfamiliar. We can do what we do for God no matter where we are or who they are.God is not limited to us…we are expanded to God!!!!!!!
