The Real Deal
The sermon that embodies the call of the unbeliever to Christ is a simple sermon.
It does not take a lot of pomp and circumstance. It does not take a tailored suit. It does not take a tuned up hymn. It does not take a chicken dinner. It does not take AMENs from a churned up congregation. It only takes the simplicity of Peters sermon which gave four elements. First, we much REPENT. No repentence means no remission of sin which means no presence of God which means no miracle! Secondly, it takes BAPTISM. In the old church there was not salvation without baptism. In the First century church there was also no redemption without baptism. However now the contemporary church allows there to be salvation without a total immersion in the pool. Thirdly, it requires the Holy Ghost. By Him we have power! Lastly there is a Legacy! Thanks be to God for His not only saving us but also saving the generations to come in their walking into the grace and mercy that our lives have ordained for them. LEGACY, to order the steps of our children. LEGACY, to guide creation back to Him. LEGACY, so that others may see that God is bigger than US!
