Sacrifice and Suffering
There is an essential but troubling reality that is typically the context of the believer’s promise and testimony. We usually hear and tell only the good stuff, but God is not like that. We usually tell others that we were comfortable and confident about everything that happened in our situation, but we weren’t truly like that. We usually relay our story as the Hebrew boys by implying that we always knew that God COULD but we just wondered if He WOULD, but we weren’t truly like that.
The truth is that with every good and perfect gift there is a tough and troubling sacrifice.
With every deliverance OUT OF there is a deliverence INTO that God ordains. The truth is that whenever God hears our cry and pities our groan HE is also addressing our weaknesses and realizing our fears. It feels like God is playing games with us or making us suffer so as to deserve our salvation. That is not it. What is happening is that there is Divine pruning or cleanup that has to happen that we of our own volition would NOT do! So was God is provisioning, He also cleans and straightens. God puts “medicine” with the “sugar” so that we will accept our healing…accept our deliverance…ACCEPT OUR CHANGE!!!! Thank You, Father!!!!!
