God can do anything but will not do everything.
We can do all things through Christ, but we cannot do everything that our flesh can think to do. In our human existence we are limited, but in our spiritual liberties we are limitless. So we have to “keep it real” as we go through our day to day.
Just because in Christ we CAN do anything does not mean that without Christ we should be looking to do everything.
This is the situation that Moses had gotten himself into. He was EVERYTHING to these chosen people. He did everything, said everything, lead in everything and from their perspective knew everything. So Moses found himself overextended. It took his father-in-law, Jethro to recognize this and advise Moses to delegate to capable people. I have to learn the same in my life. Wherever God allows, I have to delegate to capable people. And, if there are no capable people, then I may need to start developing some. I can’t overwork myself to validate my worth, substantiate my compensation or develop my professional value through my accomplishments.
Then on top of it all…there is a need for REST!!!! 🙂
