“Jesus is the light, light of the world.”
“I am the way the truth and the life….” Songs and scripture have traditionally and theologically brought Jesus, light and life together. However, living in this world will realistically bring the three together for any converted believer. We need life. We want light. We need Jesus. I used to be in denial or opposition to all of these at one point or other in my life.
I have gotten into a chasm of depression that would press me to believe that I did not need life and that actually the life of others around would be better without me.
I have dwelt and walked and longed for dark places and spaces to the point that I felt that I belonged in darkness and did not deserve or comprehend light. I have looked to everything and anything that I could find to replace the place only Jesus could truly occupy, Savior and Deliverer and Comforter. But it is at this juncture that I found Jesus.
I can’t tell you who found who.
I think the Lord found me first because I ran from His presence over and over again. No matter how, I know that I now have Jesus as Lord and Savior of my life. No more darkness but marvelous light. Not more condemnation to death but reward to everlasting life. No more my will but God’s will be done!!!
