The Benediction
This traditional benediction scripture serves as the conclusion to a chapter and book that keeps it real about who we are..sinners saved by God’s grace. The scripture lifts the truth of who God is in the context of our fallacies. “him that is able to keep you from falling” — Thank God that He can keep me from falling. Without God I fall, with God I fall, but I gain solace knowing that if it is His will then God can keep me from falling. “present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy” — Even though I am not perfect and continue to make mistakes, God, through His Son Jesus, is able to get me right so that I can be in His presence. “To the only wise God our Saviour” — Then it is not just about me.
God is GOD all by Himself.
Even if I never had my testimony, He is God. Even if I did not overcome my obstacles, He is God. Even if my life were smitten with failures and pain, HE IS STILL GOD. That is why to God “be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.”
