Text:
1Corinthians 3:9-10:
9: For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.
10: According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
Theme:
Let Us Work
Introduction:
- The First Letter of Corinthians was written by the Apostle Paul to the church in Corinth. Paul’s focus in this letter was Christian Conduct.
- The text deals specifically with Christian Service…Work
- There’s difference between “Work” and “A Work”
- Work
- Expected
- Routine
- Humanly understood
- Within human capability
- A Work
- Inspired
- Dynamic
- Divine Intervention
- Through Christ
- Work
Body:
- How do I make it when I work:
- God’s Presence
- “Lo, I’ll be with you always even unto the end of the world.”
- He’s there for us!
- God’s Power
- “God did not call us unto a spirit of fear, but of POWER….”
- His Power is enough for any of our needs!
- God’s Provision
- “He will supply all of your needs according to His riches in Glory.”
- He has all that we need!
- God’s Peace
- “Peace that surpasseth all understanding.”
- Peace that surpasses all
- Darkness
- Fear
- Confusion
- Chaos
- Weakness
- Failure
- God’s Presence
- Let Us Work
- Time for us to know for ourselves
- God knew
- Omniscience…Sanctification
- Satan knows
- He sees Christians as Worthy Adversaries
- Others know
- Something different about you
- We must know God and His gift to us in Jesus
- Not guess
- Not think
- Not know of
- God knew
Conclusion:
- Know that he was born, lived, hung, bled, and died for our sins.
- Know that God has sanctified you unto His work.
- Used the analogy of the job where we are hired and work under the confidence that we are employees expecting a check. If we felt that we were fired the first thing that we would do is put down our work.
- We have to believe in our being saved just as we work so hard at our jobs believing that we will get paid on time.
- So Let US Work!
