The world has it wrong! The world thinks that the believer suffers for the glory of being “called” a Christian. No!
The believer is driven by the Divine “WIIFM” or “what’s in it for me”!
Don’t be fooled there is something in it for me. It is not this world. This world is what the believer is willing to give up. Take my possessions. They weren’t mine anyway. Take my health. I am dieing anyway. Take what I think is my happiness. Even then you can’t steal my joy! The Kingdom of God is now and within it suffering is a requirement and expectation. BRING IT ON! The believer is willing to take suffering HEAD ON because the suffering is source of the believer’s power! Through suffering we become one with the Savior and take on His redemptive power for ourselves! Hallelujah!
Then to top it all off, the reward for our suffering is the Kingdom of Heaven.
The temporal Kingdom of God is not enough for this suffering! God rewards us with the Kingdom of Heaven which is eternal! Our suffering for the sake of the Gospel for a limited amount of time gets us, in return, an eternity of dwelling with Jehovah! Amen!!!
