Making Peace
First of all let’s be real and admit that this scripture is about the PEACE-MAKERS and not the PEACE-SEEKERS. So many people seek peace. They desire it. They long for it. They feel that they deserve it. They can remember when they last experienced it. But the scripture is about the PEACE-MAKERS. These are the ones who MAKE peace in spite of the chaos they endure. They MAKE peace in spite of the turmoil of their own lives and even minds. They MAKE peace even though others try to trip them, discourage them, deride them, etc.
They MAKE peace! How do they MAKE peace! The resource of the Holy Spirit indwelling empowers them to MAKE it when it does not exist!
MAKE it when it is not felt! MAKE it when it is not seen!!! They MAKE peace! So, when PEACE-MAKERS are out there ding what God has called and commissioned them to do, they can’t help but be called “the children of God” because only the children of God can MAKE PEACE in the midst of their storm, in the midst of the downtrodden world and society that we live in, and in the midst of our own dark times!
