Philemon 1:17

A Hopeless Condition

Here in the book of Philemon, Paul is presenting the consummate example of Jesus’ dying for the atonement of our sins the reconcile us to God into a Divine relationship unattainable in and of ourselves.  It is a tall order for a creation that is not even worthy to be in the presence of its creator.

We are born into sin and even wired for iniquity…a hopeless condition.

  But then we see Jesus who was made a little lower than the angels and was made a perfect sacrifice for an imperfect creation.  In short, Paul presented Philemon on Paul’s credibility and not Philemon.  The people were to accept Philemon as if it were Paul himself.  Jesus did the same before the Father for us.  Jesus gave His reputation, His blood, His relationship with God in order that we may have a way to salvation and not be eternally damned.  Since this way has been made available, we must believe and confess Jesus, the Christ, as Lord and Savior of our lives!!!!

Jesus represents us and allows us to go into the Kingdom on HIS credit and credibility!!!!!!
