Expectation & Requirement
When you go to church there are always requirements and expectations. You are required to dress a certain way. You are required to be cordial and not disrupt worship service. You are required to follow the direction of the ushers to your seat. You are required to stand at certain times and required to sit at other times. Then you are expected to be or desire to be Christian. You are expected to join or to come back. You are expected to give in the offering. So many requirements and expectations color your experience in church. However, the universal church only has one requirement for being a part of the worship of the Almighty God.
The universal church, of which God is the Head, only requires that we be His living creation.
This is the requirement. However the expectation goes a step further. The expectation is that you give praise to God. This is a big expectation for many people who are shy, timid, apprehensive or afraid to give praise to God openly, but we must do it…just because we have the breath in our bodies. We must do it…just because He has given us the ability to do so. We must do it…just because He loves us enough to call us His.
