The Table Is Prepared
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over
The 5th verse of the 23rd Psalm gives the three step process to our true deliverance. The first step is that God does not take us away from our enemies but instead prepares our provision so that both we and our enemies can see it. Wow! That also means that sometimes our enemies can mess with our blessing. Yes they can, but only when we don’t take our blessing before they can get to it! If we don’t get it then the enemy will!!!!! Secondly, the next step is that God anoints our head with oil! The oil on the head of the sheep was a way of keeping the flies out of the eyes of the sheep. Anointing the head of the believer is to show that he or she has been sanctifies or set apart from the distraction and annoyance of the enemy! Thanks be to God! But God does not stop there! Then God declares that my CUP runneth OVER! The third and final step in my deliverance is the overflow of my own soul in the midst of my trial.
