God’s Got My Back!
God’s got my back, and that is what gives me all of the comfort and confidence that I need!!!!! First of all, I have earned the right to have God as the one guarding my “back”. It is actually not just my “back”. God protects my front…my back…my head…my feet…my side…my soul!!!! The term “back” I attribute to not the location on my body but instead my spiritual awareness. God protects me where I am not aware. When my soul is vulnerable to being vexed by your presence…He protects me. The stuff coming at me that I can’t see…He protects me. When I am trusting you but you are trying to tear me down…He protects me.
I have earned this privilege and prestige because I am upright in heart as it says in Psalm 7:10.
However, the understanding of “upright” is often misinterpreted. “Upright” is often taken to be just or righteous, but when stated as “upright in heart” it actually translates best to the colloquial term “straight up”. God will have my back as long as I am “straight up” with Him! It is like how it is in the hood or in the mafia…Loyalty is based on honesty and openness. You will be protected or not killed or harmed as long as you are STRAIGHT UP with the one in charge!
