Made to Listen
This scripture has traditionally been interpreted to mean LISTEN. It is true that we need to listen to or heed the Word of God as it applies to our salvation and deliverance. However, my spirit echoes a difference nugget from this scripture! God’s Word tells me that WE NEED TO HAVE AN EAR! In the world we don’t have an ear for God’s Word; so, there is no way for us to hear what God is telling us…what a shame! Then also in the world we don’t listen with the ability that we do have to hear…OMG! So we miss the boat either because we don’t have an ear or because we don’t use the ear that we have to hear God’s Word!!! A change must be made in our lives.
We must ask God to give us an “ear” for his Word.
I ask God to give me a desire to hear Him. I ask God to give me a clarity as to what His Voice is and sounds like. I ask God to repeat what He is saying if I missed Him before. I ask God to speak louder if I can’t hear Him. I am just sooooo grateful that His grace and mercy give me chance after chance to gt my “ear” together so that I can hear Him. Like John the Baptist, God is preaching the same sermon over and over again…
