No Earthly Good
The problem with a lot of Christians is that they are either too LOW or too HIGH to be of any value to other people or to God’s ministry! Of the two greatest commandments we are very religious in our approach to satisfy the first….Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, soul, mind and body. The problem comes up when we address, if we address, the second…Love your neighbor as your self. The first sign of our error is in that it is truly amazing that we can get so high in our loving God that we cannot love our neighbor. The second sign of our error is in our loving our selves so much that we cannot love our neighbor. Both are indicative of us getting too HIGH to be able to love another “common” person. We show how high we are in how we look down at others. We show it in how we will get so busy for self that we say we don’t have time for others. We show it in how critical we are of other people who are not “like” us. We show it in how we preoccupy ourselves with groups of people that we are familiar with and won’t let another “need” get in the group. We show it in our not having the power that we should have as a believer and need other folks to validate us. A shame!!!
