You Ain’t All That…
How often do we…even as believers…get beside ourselves. This human mind tries to reconcile grace and unmerited quality to the degree that we start to think that we never sinned at all. Sometimes we even lie to ourselves that we have overcome sin. That is not true. God overcame sin FOR US! We are still both one step away from sin and one step from sinning again! Oh how often is it that come across someone who has become so heavenly bound that they are no longer any earthly good!
We must press toward the higher mark while at the same time remembering that we remain in a fleshly existence that is prone to sin an contaminated by sin.
There is a fine line between this being a depressing thought and it being a victorious testimony. The depressing thought is that no matter what we do we cannot shake the fact that we were born in sin and shaped in sin at the same time. However, the victorious testimony is that God loved me in spite of my sinful nature. The victorious testimony is that God saved me in spite of my sinful tendencies.
