Hebrews 4:11-16:
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Whatcha’ Waitin’ On?
Introduction:
(This study is a post documentation of a sermon that was done on this day at Unity. I was asked to give this sermon at the last minute just before devotion began. I prayed and prayed for God to give the revelation and power. I believe that God revealed, moved, and empowered! I do not remember everything that was said, but this is the gist of it.)
- The Book Of Hebrews is reflective of the authorship and audience of the book itself. The author is believed to be Paul but there are questions. The “Pauline” writing of the book forces the assumption that it must be Paul.
- The audience of the book are the people of Israel, the chosen people, the Jews or Hebrews.
- The message is that although Judaism provides a “good” foundation, the advent of Jesus Christ and the dispensation of Grace is a “better” one.
- We often fall because of how we depend on our supposedly “good” thinking when God has a “better” way for us!

- Jesus knows about all of our troubles:
- (Verse 15) “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.”
So Whatcha’ Waitin’ On??
- “Let us”
- Through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ for our sins, we ALL have a right to the Tree of Life if we are willing to accept Him!
- “Come boldly To the Throne of Grace”
- The Divine Invitation for Salvation and then for Restoration!
- It does not say to come timidly, with fear, or apprehensively…but BOLDLY!!!
- “That we may obtain mercy”
- Mercy is God’s unmerited favor
- Mercy gives us:
- God’s inclined ear
- God’s presence
- Mercy is the key to enter into the courts of God’s Glory
- “And find grace”
- Once we are there through mercy, then we will find Grace.
- Mercy gives us God’s presence. Grace gives His forgiveness.
- Mercy gives us God’s attention. Grace relieves us of the tension of this world’s pressures.
- Mercy gives us God’s glory. Grace ensures our right as an heir to the Kingdom.
Conclusion:
- “In the time of need”
- He knows our pains and cares. He knows are every need. HE KNOWS!
- I am so glad that I serve a God who is:
- Closer than close
- Quicker than right now
- Stronger than all powerful
- Smarter than all knowing
- More correct than true
